We left Port Angeles promptly at 10 AM to make it to Bainsbridge Island for our 12:30 PM ferry departure to Seattle.
It sprinkled a bit as we were leaving Port Angeles.
The ride was so beautiful…lush, green, spacious…
Then we arrived at Bainbridge Island:
The Quach3 were annoying each other…
We arrived at the area to catch the ferry… all cars parked and ready to go!
We got out for some fresh air — we had about 20 minutes to wait anyway. Ethan is pointing to the other ferries and boats in the water. He really liked watching them!
Time to board the ferry, everyone, back into the car!
Out of the car we went and onto the top deck — mostly for my sake. I was afraid I would get motion sickness. I am happy to report that the ride was so smooth I had no problems! Morgan did well too!
Ethan loved this ride! He was so fascinated by the entire movement of the ferry. He just stared and stared!
We’re getting closer to Seattle… had to take one photo with the Space Needle in the background!
Getting off the ferry:
On our way to Pike Place Market…
of course, see fountain.. must touch fountain!
Our Andy Z fan had to stop and stare at all these beautiful guitars (and other string instruments)!
And we arrived at the market! It was a very crowded place. People everywhere… the colors were absolutely amazing! This fruit stand itself was just fabulous! I had to get a photo.. and then we saw some yummy kiwi fruit that we stopped to purchase. Morgan will have these on the road or at the hotel. She’s a huge kiwi fruit fan!
He did this cute thing while we were listening to a street performer (see my blue shirt in the lower right hand corner?).
Here’s the performer. His name is Matt and his wife lives in Cambodia! While I was listening to another performer, Matt was sitting near by reading a Cambodian dictionary to brush up on his Khmer. I asked him what he was doing and he began to tell me about his backpacking/hitch hiking trip through Cambodia and meeting his wife in Phnom Penh (the capital) on his 5th day there. He’s been back and forth for the last 3 years to visit her and is working on bringing her to Washington.
Here’s Matthew and his fish! This is by far his most favorite thing to do when we go to the grocery store! I always have to swing by the seafood section so he can look at the fish, crabs, and other seafood that might strike his fancy that day.
So the big attraction at this fish market are these guys… see for yourselves!
This brass pig was sitting outside the place… Melissa, if you read my blog, this is for you!
At the farmer’s market we bought raspberries and blueberries that the children devoured immediately!!! They loved every bite — too quick for photos! Afterwards, we headed to the Space needle.
We came, we saw, we took a photo, but we did not go on the ride.
While waiting for Ed and Uyen, who decided to ride the needle, we played in the park area… he was dry all of 2 seconds…
Then we saw this and all dry clothes went out the window!
Morgan even joined in!
Now back to the car to change wet clothes and find a place to eat!
After dinner… find our hotel and possibly do laundry! Yikes, all these wet clothes!
I love Seattle. Glad you had a good time!
